6 Fitness Audiobooks to Inspire Your New Year’s Resolution

Did you know that the most common day to quit a New Year’s Resolution is January 19th? Have you made it this far and need a bit more motivation to carry on further? Need to pick back up where you left off and try again?

Try listening to any of these 6 fitness audiobooks to inspire your New Year’s Resolution!

I personally find that listening to athletes discuss their own fitness journies to success gives me that little extra push to accomplish my own fitness goals. Like well-known author Haruki Murakami sharing his stories about learning to love running as a way to stay fit while leading the sedentary lifestyle of a writer.

Audiobooks will give you an even more immersive experience if you listen while working out. These books might be that perfect kick to get you moving and keep you moving!

#1: Dottir: My Journey to Becoming a Two-Time Crossfit Games Champion

Katrin Davidsdottir is an Icelandic CrossFit competitor that has successfully won 2 CrossFit Games. She is an elite athlete that had previous experience in gymnastics before moving on to extreme CrossFit competitions.

Enjoy some inspiring stories from a wonderful human as she explains the ups and downs of being a world-renowned athlete.

If this hard-working lady can’t inspire you to up your fitness game, then no one can.

#2: What I Talk About When I Talk About Running

Haruki Murakami is best known for his internationally best-selling novels and short stories (IQ84 is my favorite).

Here, he talks on a more personal level about his intense love of long-distance running. Sure to be motivational to hear of his passion for running while you while away the miles on your next run.

#3: Discipline Equals Freedom: Field Manual

Jocko Willink is a retired United States Navy officer and member of the elite SEAL Team 3. He’s extreme in all the right ways.

Be prepared to leave your excuses at the door when you listen to Willink’s advice on using discipline to elevate your fitness and your life.

#4: Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superatletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen

If you want a bit of a global tour while logging the miles, check out Christopher McDougall’s Born to Run.

McDougall shares the intimate story of his running experiences, including those with the remote Tarahumara in the Mexican Copper Canyons.

If he can run for days on end, you’ll find the strength to finish your latest workout.

#5: The Wellness Project: How I Learned to Do Right by My Body, Without Giving Up My Life

While this book isn’t technically just about fitness, I think it deserves to be on the list because it promotes overall wellness.

Learn new recipes and follow along as a normal person struggles through the ups and downs of becoming well. I think readers will connect with the personal feel and realize that you don’t have to go to extremes to live a healthy life.

#6: Let Your Mind Run

I’m adding yet another running book to the list because I’m a personal fan of the activity, but also because Let Your Mind Run is more about the mental aspect of being fit and athletic instead of the pure physical.

I hope listeners will enjoy hearing an inspiring personal story while learning to change their own mindset about fitness and health.

So there ya have it: 6 Fitness Audiobooks to Inspire Your New Year’s Resolution!

Go out there, be active, listen to books, and be happy!
