I hope these questions are fun and that you can relate to a few. There are many lists out there that sparked my questions here. Hop around the book blog world to get to know other bloggers in the community.
Feel free to share your own answers in the comments below!
#1. What are you reading right now?
I’m reading Venomous Lumpsucker by Ned Beauman.
#2. What book are you most excited to read next?
Oath of Loyalty from Kyle Mills who has been continuing Vince Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series. I can’t wait!!! The scheduled release is September 13, 2022.
#3. What is your favorite book?
I’d say all of the Harry Potter books are my favorite, it’s really hard to narrow it down to just one. I do remember that the first book I read in the series was Order of the Phoenix. I read this after watching the first four movies. So, I guess this could be my favorite because it’s what made me fall in love with Harry Potter.
#4. What is your favorite reading spot?
Right now, my favorite spot is on my balcony. The weather is so nice and it’s shaded. I can look out over the dog park and I have a nice pine tree there that attracts a lot of birds.
#5. How many books have you read so far this year?
I’m into the 60s, but I’m not sure exactly. 65?
#6. Have you always been a book lover?
Yes, I’ve always been a reader. My parents read to me often and I picked up reading quickly.
#7. Who is your favorite author?
That’s a tough one. I’m not sure and I think it changes based on who I’ve read recently. This year I discovered Agatha Christie. Obviously, she’s not new, but her works are new to me and I’ve really been enjoying them.
#8. What book did you last re-read?
I last re-read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling. I re-read this for the 2022 Book Challenge.
#9. Paperback or hardcover?
I love a good hardcover.
#10. Favorite book to movie adaptation?
I always liked Fight Club.
#11. Do you have a library card?
Yes!!! And I use it all the time. Books and movies come to visit my house a lot.
#12. What would you call your bookstore if you owned one?
The Bookshelf. I know, not very original.
#13. Which fictional character would you most like to meet in real life?
I want to meet Hermione Granger. She’s my childhood hero.
#14. How many books do you read at one time?
Usually two. One hard copy and one audiobook. Or one hard copy and one ‘other’ book, like a reference book for research that I only read select sections from.
#15. What book do you most recommend to friends?
Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez. I think everyone will be shocked by how much systemic sexism still exists in the world. It’s a great book, although a bit depressing.
#16. How many books do you own?
Hmm, ok now I really have to think. Probably between 20-30. I borrow most books that I read or give them away after I’m done if I bought them. The only ones that stay are usually gifts or personal favorites.
#17. Have you ever written a book?
No, but I think I might like to try one day. I really enjoy writing this blog as a hobby, so there’s hope I could venture into book writing in the future. Probably would be a fantasy novel.
#18. How long have you been writing your blog?
I started Spine & Leaf Books in October of 2021. So as of this post, about 9 months.
#19. What’s the best part about book blogging?
I have read so many more books in the past year because of this blog. I love that I’m more exposed to the book community and that I’m coming across many new books. I’m also getting a little bit of a push to ‘prove’ that I’m a well-read blogger, so I’m branching out and going for a few classics and trendy books that I maybe wouldn’t have read otherwise.
#20. What else do you do besides read?
In my other free time, I like to run and work out. I also enjoy walking my dog and cooking.
